Ruth G. Richardson is a member of the Baha’i Faith and lives just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Today, Ruth is in her 80’s and enjoying her second career as a painter.
Previously, she worked for more than 40 years as a social worker and transformed the way social service agencies in Pittsburgh worked with young people and orphans. (Read a feature story on Richardson published in the Washington University in St. Louis Magazine, "Being Socially Conscious in Work and Art.")
A lifelong champion of justice and racial equality, Ruth became a Baha’i in her 70s and sees the religion as a natural extension of her long-held beliefs. Her remarkable professional life and spiritual beliefs now appear on canvas in vibrant color.

Thought you would find this interesting.
Hi Kendy, Send me an update on your life, I thought you would find this clip interesting. Cheers, Chris Johnson
I'm so blessed to have found
I'm so blessed to have found this! I learned about the Bahai faith yesterday, listened and watched the historical presentation, and dreamt about it last night. The icing is having found this! Ruth, I live two hours away from you and would love to meet with you and other Bahai's. With love and admiration, Sandy
Beautiful!
Ruth, this really is a wonderful profile. Thank you for sharing your story!!
Sandy Robertson, how wonderful that you don't live to far away from Pittsburgh. You can get in touch with the Pittsburgh Baha'i Community by phone at 412-278-1096, or by email at pittsburghbahais@yahoo.com. This Sunday, March 21st is the Baha'i New Year and if you can make it to Pittsburgh, you might want to attend the New Year celebration to meet some of the Baha'is in the community. You could also call 1-800-22-UNITE to see if there are Baha'is closer to where you live.
Loving greetings,
Ayorkor Korsah (from the Pittsburgh Baha'i Community)
Ruth Richardson
Ruth Richardson is more than a celebrated artist, she's the brilliant, dedicated social worker/organizer who founded Three Rivers Youth. Ruth is a force of nature, the personification of joy, humor, and hard work. The Greeks and Romans would've declared her a goddess! This past year, a little girl was born who will call her Grandmother for the first time. As for me, I'm proud just to call Ruth my friend!
hi ms richardson

Ruth, you did a great job and I am sure it will never be forgotten and make a good impact on the people of the Earth. It will have strong social effect.
