Baha'i communities across the United States and the globe are demonstrating their concern and support for seven Iranian Baha’i leaders who are scheduled to appear before an Islamic Republic Revolutionary Court on February 7, 2010.

Hundreds of Baha'i communities throughout the United States observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day by helping to organize public events to commemorate the great, slain civil rights leader.

Baha’is are urged to “Consort with the followers of all religions in a spirit of friendliness and fellowship.” One way they do this is through the commemoration of World Religion Day -- Sunday, January 17.

If communities were like people, turning a hundred would be one of those kindly occasions for a gentle birthday party where the kids might be cautioned not to get the honored senior overstimulated.

Acceptance of the ethical dimension of climate change has risen to a new level of importance in discussions at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, say members of the Baha'i delegation.

Baha'is from five continents, including two from the United States, are making presentations at the Parliament of the World's Religions – an event now held every five years in the modern continuation of an initiative begun more than a century ago.

Baha’is will commemorate the Day of the Covenant on Nov. 25, and the Ascension of Abdu’l-Baha on Nov. 28.

In 1893, in the city of Chicago,  a "World's Parliament of Religions" was held as an auxiliary event in conjunction with the World's Columbian Exhibition (World's Fair). This event marked the first official gathering of representatives from eastern and western religions and is considered the birthplace of formal interreligious dialogue.
