Reception Center

Dear Friends, I have been to the Temple twice. Both times I love it. Once after the World Congress in 1992 ( coming from Africa) and the 2nd time I had the whole place to myself...In Sept 2006. I heard at the time that the reception Center was undergoing some renovations and there were a lot of new ideas being incorporated. I would love to get a detailed report of the changes as I had read about them only and say some rough sketches at the time. We are about to remodel our own Baha'i Centre here in Montreal and I would love to share your ideas and sketches ( plan) with the friends. I remember one very important factor is that you added MORE ( natural) LIGHT.../windows. and that I remember being so vital. Added items of ecological value also. Is there a way to get that plan on internet with the ideas that were incorporated. Much obliged. ( can it be viewed also...on virtual). Warmest Baha'i Greetings with love maria

Include music in the virtual presentation

It would be wonderful to include some music with this, maybe from the Choir that sings there so beautifully with heavenly verses., also include a virtual of the reception center.. It is absolutely wonderful and beautiful to see. Our Mother Temple of North America whose corner stone was laid by Abdu'l Baha himself. What an event, what a blessed spot. Greetings and love. maria

I wish to some music from

I wish to hear some music from the Choir. BLESSINGS TO EVRYONE!Luky

Listen to music from the Baha'i Choral Music Festival

You can listen to a whole hour of music from the 3rd Annual Choral Music Festival concert, held at the Temple in May 2009 by going to the National Assembly's Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1QJpQ0qgyiY. At the same site, you can also hear individual songs from the concert. Enjoy!

The Gardens

A nice addition to this display would be of the gardens outside of the House of Worship. I've had a seeker spend hours in the garden and was really impressed with it. She eventually became a Bahai and I felt great being able to take her to the House of Worship to spend time praying, reflecting and meditating inside as well as outside in the gardens.

House of Worship - Virtual Tour

Thank you so much for sharing the beauty of the House of Worship with us.

Wow

You guys are too much! This is really fantastic! Keep up the great work! Bahá'í greetings from Mexicali. Have a great day! :)

Baha'i Temple

Beautiful pictures, great architecture. Navigating made me remember the days I used to pray inside the Temple, reading prayers in Spanish and walk around the gardens full of beautiful flowers, meeting visitors from many parts of the world and meditating with the calm and tranquility that the place gives you when you are there. It is something to remember all your life. It gives me peace to see this pictures. It is like being there again. Thanks to all who contributed to this website! Congratulations!

Baha'i House of Worship Virtual Tour

Having visited the temple many years ago, it's a wonder to be able to easily take a virtual step inside and spin round to view its beauty once again. Likewise for the outside.

Templos

Queridos Amigos: Tan solo agradecer, desde el fondo de mi corazón, la oportunidad de conocer los templos en forma virtual, tan solo los conozco en fotografías. Un abrazo cariñoso, Alicia Claros Iquique. Chile

the temple and Bahaullah's messages

I first visited the temple at noon on Sunday, September 27, 2009, when I took special note of two of Bahaullah's inscriptions. The first one was above an entrance: "The earth is but one country, and mankind its citizens". This quotation reminded me of similar messages in the Bible and the Qur'an. Another quotation from Bahaullah was in an alcove: "Consort with the followers of all religions with friendliness". This I have tried to do as an ecumenical Christian and professor of Modern Middle Eastern History.

Great pictures!

Great pictures, i really wish i could visit the temple some day !! :( Anyways good article, keep up the good work!

Overall

I am so glad you guys have this virtual tour. I been working on drawing the exterior of the building because I find it to be inspirational as well as artistic. I only wish I could see it in real life, but this tour is almost as good. I would like to see more of surrounding area such as the gardens though.

House of Worship virtual tour

Thank your so much for this tour! I have not been there in a very long time, like decades. I was there for the dedication in 1953, and several other times, and to see so many wonderful improvements its beautiful!

HOW

So many mornings I walked up the backstairs of the House of Worship upon entering "work" and was embraced with the fragrance of gardenias that stood at the front door. I said prayers and was humbled in its mighty presence. Always I thought, "Blessed beauty of the Blessed Beauty." It was an amazing privilege to be of service for two years and know thousands of amazing Baha'i`s and believers of all faiths from around the world. This is an amazing virtual tour, I can almost smell the gardenias blooming.

beautiful

I remember visiting as a child. It is wonderful to live in such a great country that has religious tolerance (aside from a few hateful atheists and others), and we can celebrate our diversity.

Home

I first visited the House of Worship in 1954 and I immediately felt at home; after becoming a Baha'i a few months later, I visited as often as I could while living in many places in the States and overseas. Now in my old age, I recognize that my true home will always be there -- it is my anchoring spot in the universe. The peace and joy that one finds is the result of millions of prayers from the millions of visitors. The beauty of that place is a reflection of the Blessed Beauty, Baha'u'llah, Who calls all of humanity to gather together and see what wonders unity can bring.

First visit

This was my first visit here, and it was a very nice visit, the movie explaining about the facility was very good and the main floor and the ceiling was just beautiful, and it was a very peaceful place to see and sit awhile.

Unity of Mankind

I have been a Bahai for a long time. Last year I had the chance to see this beautiful and spritual house of worship with my wife who is a dedicated Moslem. Both of us were really inspired by the beauty, and the real spritual atmosphere in the temple. I have been a Bahai for a long time, but during my visit to this glorious and spritual temple, I really felt the message of Bahaula, that all the people of the earth, no matter what religion they have they all are loved by god. During our visit, we met Christians, Moslems, Budists, Jewish, Bahahis, etc. I really felt that we are all brothers and sisters, and the basis of all religions are the same. Above all, relegion shall be cause of UNITY in the world. I am sure every day more and more people will hear about Bahaulah's message that THE EARTH IS ONE COUNTRY, AND ALL PEOPLE ARE ITS CITIZEN". I Love all the people of the world like my brothers and sisters. Foad Fred Sajed

Visit 2009

We had the opportunity to visit your lovely and spiritual place of worship in August or September of 2009. Have video of our visit. Your member, Andre Johnson and I will never forget the beauty of the gardens and the water. The choir sang songs of praise to the Glory of God. I am a pianist/organist and I was so honored to shake the director's hand. I am a christian, brought up in the baptist faith. I consider myself non-denominational. I do respect all the hardships that your early pioneers suffered while standing for what they believed. We went downstairs and viewed the videos. We listened to speeches and toured the entire museum. We shall never forget how welcome we felt. We live in Memphis and came to visit relatives in Chicago. Planned that we would go to Wilmette before we went home. That was the best decision we could have made. The trip ranks as a milestone in both our lives, and we will always cherish every memory. Hope to visit again. Continue bringing people of all cultures together! Blessings!!!! Cheryl

Bahá'í literature directs

Bahá'í literature directs that a House of Worship should be built in each city and town, and emphasizes that its doors must be open to all regardless of religion, or any other distinction. The Bahá'í laws emphasize that the spirit of the House of Worship must be a gathering place where people of all religions may worship God without denominational restrictions. The Bahá'í laws also stipulate that only the holy scriptures of the Bahá'í Faith and other religions can be read or chanted inside in any language.

It is the great picture

I love the picture of House of worship. According to the Hindu religion, we call house of worship as a temple. As we know, white colour is the symbol of peace and harmony. So, such colour really suits this kind of worship place. In the same line, reflecting pool is plus point to look attractive for it. I am planning about constructing an inground pool at backyard.
